“Boys for Sale” awarded Best Doc in South Africa!
The documentary “Boys for Sale“, on which Ian served as the executive producer, has received the award for Best Documentary at the 2017 Durban Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in South Africa. Nine more screenings of “Boys for Sale” announced
Nine more screenings of the DocumentingIan-produced documentary “Boys For Sale” have been announced. From Mexico to Romania, the total number of screenings in international film festivals is now 22. “Dying at Home” to be re-broadcast globally on Oct 30
“Dying at Home”, Ian’s 2016 documentary about home care doctor Dr. Kaoru Konta, will be re-broadcast around the world on the NHK World channel and (free) app. Times for the four screenings on October 30 can be found on the NHK World page for the documentary, while more about Dr. Konta and Ian’s relationship with her and her patients can be found on the DocumentingIan blog.
London screening of “Boys for Sale” Sells Out
Following a successful screening in Rotterdam’s Camera Japan Film Festival, the main screening of the “Boys for Sale” UK Premier in the prestigious Raindance Film Festival was sold out. Due to popular demand, an additional screening of the film was held. Six more Premiers announced for “Boys for Sale”
Following last month’s announcement of six upcoming premiers of “Boys for Sale“, six more premiers were announced today. Details of the screenings, which include the East Coast and Asian Premiers of the film, can be found on the DocumentingIan Blog.
Ian to attend Dutch and UK premiers of ‘Boys for Sale’
Boys for Sale, on which Ian served as Executive Producer, will hold its Dutch and UK premiers at film festivals later this month. Ian is scheduled to be in attendance at both festivals where he will also participate in post-screening discussions. Six premiers announced for “Boys for Sale”

Documentary on the Wright Imperial published
The next installment in the series Ian is directing for The Imperial Hotel, Tokyo, has just been published. Focusing on the building that the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the Imperial in 1923, the short documentary is accompanied by a column written by Ian. “Boys for Sale” receives Fox-sponsored award
At the North American premier of Boys for Sale, the documentary was honoured with the “Fox Inclusion Outfest Feature” award. Ian, one of the producers on the film, along with Co, one of the protagonists, were on hand to receive the award on behalf of the team. On the DocumentingIan Blog, Ian writes about the festival in two parts; Part 1 details the screening, while Part 2 details the award.
North American Premier of “Boys for Sale” to be held in LA’s Outfest
After last week’s World Premier of 売買ボーイズ (Boys for Sale) in Germany, the North American premier of the documentary has just been announced on the producer’s blog DocumentingIan.
