Fukushima mothers continue to share their struggle with Ian

Ian’s monthly visits to Fukushima continue, and he has just come back from another filming trip.

Prior to his arrival, more Fukushima mothers had contacted Ian about the results of their children’s thyroid screenings and blood tests.  Ian met with many families to discuss the issue of thyroid cysts and nodules, the government’s plans to use locally-grown rice in the children’s mandatory school lunch program, and the increasing evidence that the decontamination program is ineffective and exposing the children to extremely high levels of radiation.

Ian’s findings can be found on his blog, here:

Part 1:  Into the mouths of babes: feeding controversy

Part 2:  Disappointment and Joy

Part 3:  With support withdrawn, evacuees may have no choice but to return

Part 4:  More mothers and their children

Part 5:  Play until you cry

Part 6:  Breaking Bread
